Wes Welker Football Camp Scholarships Awarded

The Amherst Patriots are proud to announce that three of their players were awarded scholarships to attend the 2012 Old Spice Wes Welker Football ProCamp taking place in May. Congratulations to Liam Greene, Clem Sherwood, and Daniel Smith as scholarship recipients  on behalf of the Ricky McGregor Scholarship Fund. Liam, Clem and Daniel submitted essays that detailed their athletic and academic accomplishments for 2011 and ultimately qualified them as accomplished recipients.

2012 Football Coaches Meeting

We will be holding an Amherst Patriots coaches information meeting soon. I encourage anyone interested in coaching to attend.  I will have the necessary applications available and will be accepting them at that point.

2011, Year in Review

As 2011 comes to a close we would like to reflect on what a great season it was for the Patriots and SV Sabers. We had amazing effort from an outstanding group of coaches, board members, and our Patriot and Saber families. We all worked together to achieve spectacular results. Also, we enjoyed an unprecedented amount of financial donations from local businesses and sponsors. We’re very grateful for all the support and are already hard at work planning for even greater success in 2012.

Cowboys stop Patriots, punch ticket to Florida

After a great run the Amherst Patriot Pee Wee’s season came to an end in Worcester today at Foley Stadium.  The Pee Wee’s fell to the Mount Hope Cowboys in the New England Regional Finals by a score of 25-6.  The Patriots gave a great effort, played hard until the very end, but were not able to keep the speedy Cowboys out of the end zone.  For the second year in a row the team from Providence, Rhode Island will advance to Florida to compete for the national Pop Warner title.

Mount Hope Preview

For the second year in a row Coach Sean Smith and his staff have a team one win away from a trip to Florida.   The Amherst Patriot Pee Wee’s will compete for the Division 2 New England Championship this Saturday at 10:45AM on Foley Stadium in Worcester, Mass against the Mount Hope Cowboys from Providence, RI. (winners of the Ocean State League, for tournament brackets click here)

Patriots beat Billerica, Advance to NE Finals

The Amherst Pee Wee’s traveled to Taunton, MA on Sunday to face the undefeated champions of the Pop Warner Football Conference of Eastern Mass, the Billerica Scouts.  The two teams battled scoreless for the first half. The Patriot’s made a huge stand with time expiring in the second quarter to keep the Scouts out of the end zone and the score 0-0.

Devils Down

In today’s battle between unbeatens the Amherst Pee Wee’s took down the Randolph-Hollbrook (MA) Blue Devils. The Patriots grabbed the lead early, up 20-0 at the half. By the time the game was over the Pee Wee’s were on their way to the next round with an impressive 26-0 victory.

Next up the Patriots (10-0) will advance to the New England Semifinals at Taunton High School in Taunton, MA 11:45AM on Sunday, November 20 to face the Billerica Scouts (11-0).

at Foley Field in Worcester, MA Saturday, November 26, 2011.

State Champs!

For the third year in a row the Amherst Patriot Pee Wee’s are the NHPW State Champs! On Wednesday night, under the lights, the Patriots (1) defeated the Merrimack Cardinals (2) by a score of 20-0 to win the 2011 state title.

Great job everyone!

Pee Wee’s Advance

The Amherst Pee Wee’s (1) battled the Bedford Bulldogs (4) at Bedford High School today for the right to advance to the State Championship Game Wednesday night in Merrimack. Despite not playing a game in two weeks, the Pee Wee’s looked crisp and took care of business with a 27-0 win.

Amherst will face Merrimack (2) who won this afternoon as well, knocking off Seacoast (3) 12-6 in an overtime thriller.

Cheer Champs!

On Sunday, October 23rd the Patriot Cheerleaders competed in the 2011 New Hampshire Pop Warner State Championships at Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester. The Jr. Midgets were State Champs in the Novice (Large) division. The Jr. Pee Wee’s came in second place in the Novice (Medium) category. Also, worth noting is that our Mitey Mite cheerleaders did an awesome job, this young squad is also on the road to success in future years.

Jr. Midget and Jr. Pee Wee’s will be moving on to the 2011 New England Regional qualifier on November 5th in Springfield, MA. Good luck girls!
