Cowboys stop Patriots, punch ticket to Florida

After a great run the Amherst Patriot Pee Wee’s season came to an end in Worcester today at Foley Stadium.  The Pee Wee’s fell to the Mount Hope Cowboys in the New England Regional Finals by a score of 25-6.  The Patriots gave a great effort, played hard until the very end, but were not able to keep the speedy Cowboys out of the end zone.  For the second year in a row the team from Providence, Rhode Island will advance to Florida to compete for the national Pop Warner title.

Patriots beat Billerica, Advance to NE Finals

The Amherst Pee Wee’s traveled to Taunton, MA on Sunday to face the undefeated champions of the Pop Warner Football Conference of Eastern Mass, the Billerica Scouts.  The two teams battled scoreless for the first half. The Patriot’s made a huge stand with time expiring in the second quarter to keep the Scouts out of the end zone and the score 0-0.

Devils Down

In today’s battle between unbeatens the Amherst Pee Wee’s took down the Randolph-Hollbrook (MA) Blue Devils. The Patriots grabbed the lead early, up 20-0 at the half. By the time the game was over the Pee Wee’s were on their way to the next round with an impressive 26-0 victory.

Next up the Patriots (10-0) will advance to the New England Semifinals at Taunton High School in Taunton, MA 11:45AM on Sunday, November 20 to face the Billerica Scouts (11-0).

State Champs!

For the third year in a row the Amherst Patriot Pee Wee’s are the NHPW State Champs! On Wednesday night, under the lights, the Patriots (1) defeated the Merrimack Cardinals (2) by a score of 20-0 to win the 2011 state title.

Pee Wee’s Advance

The Amherst Pee Wee’s (1) battled the Bedford Bulldogs (4) at Bedford High School today for the right to advance to the State Championship Game Wednesday night in Merrimack. Despite not playing a game in two weeks, the Pee Wee’s looked crisp and took care of business with a 27-0 win.

Amherst will face Merrimack (2) who won this afternoon as well, knocking off Seacoast (3) 12-6 in an overtime thriller.

Snowtober Bowl

For most of the day Saturday it was just cold, but by late afternoon the cold turned to snow and what unfolded was a game to remember. Mitey Might Blue battled through six inches of snow and Youngsville dropping a close game 0-6. Click here for photos. Earlier in the day Mitey Mite Red defeated Merrimack. Great seasons by both squads!

Playoff’s Kickoff

The New Hampshire Pop Warner post season kicked off Wednesday night in Auburn, NH with two Jr. Pee Wee games. First up, Amherst Red (6) faced off against the Manchester Eagles (3). Manchester jumped out to an early seven point lead on a long touchdown run. Amherst fought back with a kick-off returned for a touchdown on the ensuing kick. The Amherst kids found hard, but in the end the speed and stellar passing of the Eagles were too much for the Patriots. Manchester won 44-20. Great effort, great season. Congratulations JPW Red!

Week 8 – Playoff Bound

Amherst Patriot Pee Wee’s clinched the top seed in the Pee Wee Division with a 26-0 win over the Seacoast Titans. At the Jr. Pee Wee level Amherst Red secured the #6 seed in the JPW playoffs as they survive a four-team tiebreaker with Amherst Blue, Concord and Rockingham County.

Week 6: Sunday Results

The Patriots played games in Hooksett and Youngsville on Sunday. The feature game of the day was the Patriots undefeated Mitey Mite Blue team facing off against a very tough opponent from Youngsville (4-1). The two teams slugged it out under an unseasonably hot October sun and the Patriots prevailed in the end.
