Mark your calendar for the 2012 Amherst Patriots Coaches conference. It will be held this year on Tuesday, June 12th and Thursday, June 14th at Hampshire Hills in Milford.
The areas we expect to cover are:
- O-line fundamentals and techniques
- Teaching proper tackling
- Practice organization, game day management and managing MPR.
- T offense
- Player positioning and screening.
- Drills for all positions on both O and D.
- 3-4 cover 2 D, 50 slant D and the 3-4 crunch D
- Proper warm up and cool down techniques
- Injury prevention, player safety and how to handle a player with a suspected concussion.
There will also be a few new sessions:
- HUDL.COM: We will be holding a breakout session to help new coaches familiarize themselves with the product and help existing coaches further the expertise.
- There will be a session on expanding the T offense which will include new formations and plays.
We are expecting many of the same speakers as last year. In addition, the UNH head coach has offered to have a couple of his coaches come and discuss drills, techniques, practice organization and game planning. If there is anything else you want to see, please let me know.
